The 2017 Meursault Les Clous comes from 8.5-hectare parcel, a substantial plot. It has a light, stony bouquet that just needs to reflect more of the appellation's characteristics - more nuttiness, please! The palate is crisp and fresh on the entry, offering citrus peel and lime and a touch of spice toward the linear, moderately long finish.
This sunny wine shows a lot of vinosity without weight, its paprika-like spice lending a red tone to the fruit. It hints at wild strawberries and green tea, though the predominant flavor is lemon zest and delicate minerality. The texture seems to stretch out into the finish, taking on the floral scent of freshly churned butter.
Ripe aromas of hazelnut, pear and apple compote are trimmed in soft nuances of citrus and oak. There is excellent volume to the rich but vibrant medium weight flavors that exude evident minerality on the slightly more complex and youthfully austere finale that is noticeably firmer.
This has an attractive fusion of yellow grapefruit and lemon with white nectarines. The palate has great focus and freshness with ripe citrus fruit and white peaches.
A mix of apple, melon, lemon and earth flavors work together in this vibrant white. Balanced, fresh and long, with a lingering aftertaste of spice.
A whiff of mineral reduction is present on the cool aromas of green apple, white flowers and a hint of wood. There is more evident minerality to the more energetic if less seductively textured flavors that terminate in a moderately firm, clean and dry finale. This will need to develop more depth to achieve the upper end of my projected range.

Notes of pear, fresh bread, lemon oil, vanilla pod and white flowers introduce the 2019 Meursault Les Clous, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive wine that's racy and mineral. This higher-altitude hillside site has performed well.
