This is the first wine to display any appreciable reduction to this point along with moderately prominent wood influence. Otherwise there is evident ripeness to the very rich and equally succulent medium weight flavors that deliver fine length if only moderate depth.

Here too the wood treatment is discreet though not invisible as it surrounds the gently spicy nose of dark berries, plum and lavender. The nicely ripe, round and supple medium-bodied flavors also possess a caressing mouth feel before terminating in a succulent, plum and bitter cherry-inflected finish. This should be approachable young if that’s your preference.

The sleek, intense and well-defined medium-bodied flavors exude evident minerality onto the much more complex and persistent finale where the wood telegraphed by the nose reemerges. This is really quite good though note that my predicted range offers the benefit of the doubt that the generous wood will ultimately be successfully integrated.

A markedly floral-infused nose offers up primarily notes of green apple and lemon zest along with background wisps of yeast and quinine. There is very good complexity to the vibrant, even racy flavors that possess a moderately fine effervescence before culminating in a crisp, moderately dry and citrusy finish. This is really quite good and I like the style.

A generous application of wood and menthol can be found on the dark pinot fruit, spice, floral and newly turned earth aromas. The rich and muscular if rather supple big-bodied flavors possess a caressing mouth feel, indeed even velvety, before culminating in an impressively persistent finish where the only nit is a touch of warmth.

There is ample petrol character to the cool, pure and beautifully fresh nose that combines notes of citrus and yeast with those of green apple and a whiff of pain grillé. I really like the sense of tension and energy to the intense, delineated and solidly complex flavors that are supported by a firm and reasonably fine effervescence before culminating in a very dry, highly complex and superbly persistent finish. The outstanding 2008 vintage in Champagne can count another winner as this is a wine to buy and age in quantity.

Once again, based on the nose alone, this could be nothing else but Chablis with its mélange of tidal pool, mineral reduction, citrus blossom and discreet spice nuances. There is fantastic detail to the focused, mineral-driven and powerful middle weight plus flavors that do a slow build from the mid-palate all the way back to the explosively long, balanced and bone dry finish. This too should amply reward longer-term cellaring but be approachable after only 6 to 8. In a word, wonderful.

This appears to be drawn directly from liquid Kimmeridgian and should also amply reward longer-term cellaring. In a word, brilliant. 96/2026+

This is perennially one of my favorite wines and one that I buy virtually every vintage. The 2013 version displays a deft touch of oak that again is sufficiently subtle as to allow the ripe and very fresh white and yellow orchard fruit, sea breeze and iodine scents to shine. There is excellent punch as well as fine detail to the almost aggressively mineral-driven flavors that possess good power but also a lovely sense of refinement on the wonderfully long and impeccably well-balanced finish. Exquisite.

This is also completely classic and even more aromatically complex with a plethora of sea shore nuances to the cool green fruit scents. On the palate this is dense, powerful and quite serious with brooding flavors that brim with dry extract that buffers the firm acid spine on the intensely mineral-driven and explosively long finish. This is the biggest wine in the range yet impeccably well-balanced and if not exactly refined, then certainly not rustic either. If this can add even more depth than I am projecting my predicted score will seem to be overly conservative.
